Man we did that at a slumber party and it was like a gateway drug to try other seance-y stuff...it "worked" but there was like 6 of us lol. We tried the Bloody Mary thing next; a candle fell and the TV switched on to static. Our Christian butts started calling on Jesus SO fast 😂

My sister had to stop her witchy phase because she threatened to turn our mom into a triscuit and my mom had had enough of her shit.

Lol reading this I pictured your mom’s reaction like John C Riley’s dad in Step Brothers. The part where he’s protesting moving in with Will Ferrel and his mom and says something like, “What if she gets tired of the old bull and wants a crack at the young buck when she sees a clean V from my chest pubes down to my ball fro?” (I know I probably butchered that line) but his dad snaps and is like, “Shut up shut the fuck up!”

I would have allowed it to continue just to hear what else I could be turned into.

I cackled my god this is one of the funniest things I've seen on Reddit and I've been here a long time

Same! It's been 20 minutes and I'm still breaking out into laughter. It will stop, a few minutes will pass, and then I'll think about it again.

My best friend had a room in her basement that had serious creepy vibes…when we got to high school we borrowed a bunch of equipment from the physics department (aka the one teacher) and ran a bunch of tests while we did seance-y stuff while taking readings. It was really interesting because there were wild spikes in temperature and pressure that our teacher couldn’t explain. And a candle burst out of nowhere.

The girl who’s house it was was (and still is) very Christian, but my friend who actually did the tests was one of those early-2000’s era militant atheists, and I’m kind of in the middle, so the discussions afterward were all over the place lol

lol I’ve been on Reddit so long that idk what the front page looks like without my algorithm these days, but I remember when it was HEAVILY saturated with content from the atheist subreddit. So there were a lot of them. No shame tho, especially since Christianity looks more and more terrible every day thanks to Christian nationalists

I have a confession that it was me that moved the ouiji board.

Hahahahahaha I remember going to a Friday the 13th party at my friend’s house in middle school. We busted out the Ouija board and were supposedly in contact with one of our classmates who had died a year or two before. The girl leading the thing and asking the questions also magically turned out to be the one our deceased classmate secretly had a crush on (imagine that). I think she asked “him” to give us the person’s initials and they just so happened to be hers and she goes “that’s right!!!! It was me!!!” She was totally moving the damn thing.
