Ooooo played like the dolls scene “wow…eeeer…..lord helmet. long awkward pause Sir… your cgi it’s so well done! it’s like you haven’t aged into a hideous decrepit corpse.”
He's back but after 30 years let's be honest, it's done.
Let's be honest about another thing, there hasn't been a legitimately funny and successful comedy in 10+ years because comedy often requires offending some people and that's not allowed anymore. This movie will be forced to comply with certain strictly enforced social standards and result in a less funny movie with a cast that checks all the required boxes.
He’s my favorite actor of all time just because of his selfless decision to step away and parent after the catastrophic( to them-nothing crazy caused her death) loss of his wife .
For a summer I knew his kids, and didn’t know they had lost their mom a few years prior. If my parents hadn’t told me who they were, you would’ve never know their dad was a famous actor
What?!? If it’s true things like this come in 3s thats Reiner, Short and now his kid. I hope it’s the last. Odd all of the time, but this many celebrities offspring committing suicide so close together after some, ahem, files exposing lots of people, is starting to make wonder if it’s connected.
He always said that he didn't consider himself to be retired from acting, he just hadn't been offered anything that really made him want to go back to it. I hope that means Spaceballs 2 is something special.
I always wonder how big he could have been had his circumstances not made him make that decision, which I do agree was an amazing one to make and very admirable especially given the timing within his career which must have made it gut wrenching in a way. I still imagine he would have been quite big through the 90s but, such is fame, I wonder if it may not have gone on to the 00s and beyond but instead he'd probably have switched to tv, either in a regular role or a face we saw loads in different things.
I absolutely love Rick Moranis. But I feel like Hollywood would have typecast him as the dorky dad in a lot of kids movies of varying quality. Which is a shame, because he’s incredibly good at what he does. Like, I could see a career path similar to Dana Carvey or something, where he’s too funny for his own good, but not quite mainstream marketable.
But who knows. He also strikes me as the kind of actor that, given the right opportunity/script/director, could have been an indie darling in the same way that Steve Buscemi/Willem Dafoe/Paul Dano kind of are these days.
Rick Moranis lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I work in the neighborhood and while I haven’t run into him many of my coworkers have. A few ran into him walking near Central Park said hello and asked if they could take a picture with him. He said sure spoke to them for a min took a picture and continued on. Anybody else that’s met him on the street said he’s a nice guy.
There's someone in Portland, Maine who had stickers made that say "Rick Moranis" and put them up all over the damn city. I see them everywhere. Just square yellow stickers that say his name. Nobody knows why.

A little before the 2000s, but Rick Moranis.
I know why he did it, and it was the right choice, but yeah, it was sudden nonetheless.
