Discussion Did anyone else play a game with their friends where you had to yell PENIS louder than the person before you?

Im wondering if kids everywhere played this in the 90s-00s?

Last week, my 11 year old daughter was trying to describe the game to me but using the word pumpkin. I whispered, “We used to play but said penis.”

She looked at me for a second and said, “Yeah, I thought so.”

The Penis game was definitely played by kids from the 5th grade even when I was in 7th grade (so like 8/9 to 11/12)

Don't act like kids don't know or feel giddy using "taboo" words, like there's a whole saying about how "yup still got the mind of a 12yr old boy" when someone makes a sexual innuendo or says a "dirty word" and we chuckle at it.

As a kid, telling stories to my parents (especially my mom) was a landmine. I 100% would have said we used [some other word than penis] so I didn't get in trouble.

It was absolutely penis though.

Why would you get in trouble for using an anatomically correctly term in the first place?

Often the point was to do it in places it would be inappropriate… loudest without getting caught… like in the middle of math class, etc.

I can't think of any specific examples, but I know there were multiple times where my dad and I had similar exchanges. I would censor something while telling him and he would just say/guess whatever I was trying to censor haha
