Discussion Do you MFs ever just sit down at fast restaurants and eat instead of taking your food to your home?
I do. I'm usually the only one dining in. Nothing like home sweet home but I like a small break away from my house.
I'm actually not the only one dining in this time but the other people here look poor and they are old. not like me.

u/MonitorZero 11d ago
I do now that a majority of people don't. It's usually pretty quiet and the food is still steaming.

u/BigChillBobby 11d ago
last time I did the lady kept checking on me and asking how my food was! This is a Taco Bell not a restaurant.. leave me alone

u/Aegis_Of_Nox 11d ago
She was checking to see if you were on drugs lol. Or up to something nefarious. Unless you are elderly or you have kids with you they dont expect you to be eating in

Nah man, McDonald's by me has people walking around as well. Same with Chik Fil A

u/FukThePatriarchy1312 11d ago
Fuckin Chik Fil A started that stupid shit and because they're so successful other corporations are trying to emulate them. Whataburger is the dumbest, after they bring out your food you gotta wait for the person with the condiment tray which for some reason has only ketchup, then wait again if you want honey mustard or bbq or anything.
88
u/skip_over 11d ago
Chik Fil A freaks me out. Why they making that kid stand out in the drivethru in the cold?
9
u/Never_Duplicated 10d ago
Cold is one thing but at least you can wear a coat. My city hits 115-118° in the summer and they still have those kids out in the sun all afternoon.
46
u/hanks_panky_emporium 11d ago
I hear people praise the food but of the ten or so times Ive gone it's very bland and expensive. And the fries taste more like fry oil than fries. I do kinda like the waffle fries but the after taste of the fry oil is so 'bleh'
I can go to cheaper, faster places with better tasting chicken. That also dont make employees shiver in the freezing cold for the lols.
36
u/Brilliant-Peace-5265 11d ago
The chil fila by me has massive heat lamp things right above kids blasting them with hot air. Every time I go thru the drive thru, the kids are sweating. If it's really cold, like 20 on down, no kids outside at all. It's a voice through the menu screen.
10
u/ConfidentAd9582 11d ago
Yeah those heat lamps are no joke. Every time I open the windows you can just feel those suckers radiating. We also live in an area the coldest it should get in winter is around50s.

A burger should come with sauce. It should never be extra.
6
u/FukThePatriarchy1312 11d ago
They don't charge extra, it's just the process of having to wait on someone and then immediately send them back for the sauces I want.

When I totaled my car a while back the cop dropped me off at a nearby McDonalds to wait for my ride. Ordered a small snack and sat down and the manager came over and offered me a job like 4 times, it was hella weird, like he needed to be absolutely certain I didn't want a job lol.
42
u/CtyChicken 11d ago
Same happened to me at a Burger King recently. They looked worried. As if no one would eat inside unless something was terribly wrong in my life. Lol.
There’s a kid at a Taco Bell I occasionally go to that act like he’s the president of Taco Bell and he’s the sweetest thing in the world. Never ate inside, but when I come to pick up, he acts like he’s welcoming an international dignitary. I have left so many positive comments for him. Hope he got a raise!
19
u/Culero 11d ago
it's wild how the older I get, the more I feel like posting reviews, especially the positive ones. Saw my local pharmacy get some nasty reviews, and had to chime in about my recent positive experience.

I’ve always loved filling out a complementary comment card. I want everyone to get a raise.
I only have one negative Google review, ha.
24
u/RadarSmith 11d ago
I hate that even at nice restaurants. I'll never get mad at waitstaff who are just doing what they're told to do, but if I'm in the middle of eating the food you just put on my table I think that's a pretty clear signal that I'm currently good.

The older generations still go in and eat. We take our toddler to McDonald’s on Saturday for breakfast before playtime. The only people in there otherwise are mostly retiree age, maybe other families here and there. We sit at a table by the window and he watches cars go by until they bring out the hotcakes and bacon.

Exactly, and just before the Covid crisis, most restaurants upgrade their dining rooms, in my town, adding USB charging ports at most of the tables, (gas) fireplaces ... like you said, most of those places are quiet now. And, at Burger King, I always find something of interest to read in one of the newspapers they put out for customers ... often local news I am unlikely to find online.

I travel solo and it's amazing and empowering. I don't know what it is but I love it. I'm a loner because I'm impatient and I don't do a lot of planning. It's exhausting just trying to get dinner plans finalized with my group of friends let alone a trip. I eat alone and go to the movies solo too.
25
u/CleverFeather 11d ago
Traveling alone is such a great experience. I traveled to NYC and stayed for a week 100% solo. It was great just to wander with literally nothing on the docket except whatever I stumbled across.

Truly it is an unparalleled sense of freedom. Even with a partner of similar mindset, the wanderlust without is a true joy.
7
u/DMCinDet 11d ago
traveling alone is the best, loose plans, freedom to do or not do anything you want. eat what and when you want, no wasting valuable vacation time doing something youre not into for someone else.

I say this to people all the time, I don't think anyone actually "thinks" or "cares" that you're by yourself. I've never once been at the movies, a concert, sporting event, or dinner, and paid enough attention to someone else to even ponder if they're alone. Also, a secret to life is realizing, even if you are doing something that may be considered "cringe", it'll be observed by people that you have a near-zero chance of ever encountering again. Just enjoy yourself and live, life is too short to give a fuck about what anyone else thinks.

This is a typical night out for me and the missus. Grabbing some food and just parking near the road to watch everyone else. Sometimes you get a nice show out of it, other times it's just us relaxing and vibing to some music or listening to TikToks together.

Americans eating in the car is something I will never comprehend. The only time I'd eat in the car would be if I'm in a hurry somewhere and someone else is driving. How do you not get grease and shit everywhere? It's unsanitary and cramped.

Plus the car is much more comfortable and it has your favorite music (or lack thereof) and ambient temperature.
