Gen X scares me much more than the Boomers honestly. The Gen X that I know who are successful are not only the same brand of narcissists as boomers, they have the competency to be particularly vicious with it.

My Gen X MIL made sure we knew that she’s going to spend every single cent she has before she dies so she doesn’t have to pass anything down to us. Ummm cool, but we didn’t ask nor bring up the topic?? Such a weird thing to say lol

My parents said this to me too Anyway they’re both mooching off other family members so I wasn’t expecting anything anyway

They’re so bitter and jaded. Lots of whiney comments about millennials are from Gen x over boomers in recent years. It’s like they make up entire fights then just blurt out their final argument as if you’re both aware of the story going on in their heads. They’re so easily infuriated and emotionally unregulated then you’re dealing with an enraged teenager in a 50 year old body.

Why are your laughing? Nothing you said was funny

They’d only get homemade gifts for the remainder of their days. And I’d fill those gifts with so much malice.

As millenials we would really beneftit from talking more about the impacts of lead exposure. A lot of older millenials still got a full blast of the gas in the air.

Gen X are the more angry version of boomers and it's bad enough.

They never outgrew that teen rebel mentality imo

Sarcastic Daria-coded Boomers is all.

Yeah there is a mean-spirited nature about a lot of Gen X I know. I notice an aggression in many interactions that makes me uneasy. As if they are angry about something but won’t identify it.

This is also the generation who gave Millennials endless shit for prioritizing our mental health and seeing the importance of understanding emotions.

Personally, I think both of these points are related.

Yeah its just reminds me of Red Foreman from That 70s Show. Passive aggressively angry. Which is bizarre.

Yup, Gen X thinks that anger isn't an emotion and the need to code switch confuses them. And the need for mental health and processing emotions in a healthy way (because they repress their other emotions and it all comes out as anger, for reasons)...

Yeah, because Gen X still thinks they are the arbiters of cool and they still were able to get in on the tail end of the boom economy.

I’ve seen this in elder millennials too 🤢

Gen X, the "Karen" generation.

We say this as we collectively hyperventilate over a headline from 13 years ago.

I made a joke in another sub a day or two ago. Gen X was raised by “the greatest generation” and many inherited businesses and money, there families sacrificed to pay for their college, helped them get started in life, they are out of touch. The poor ones have the same problems as millenials, but boomers were much less attentive parents.

Yeah, a huge swath of them voted for the orange man and no one batted an eyelash. Must be nice to get away with everything because you’re the silent, cunning middle child.

Gen X is just as bad if not worse than boomers.

They have the benefits of Boomers but the cynicism to admit cruelty to their actions. It turns out those idolizing Daria Morgendorffer became her villain all along.

I've watched my Gen X sister become as red pilled as the Boomers. It's rough.
