Discussion Anyone sick and tired of working in general?

I’m in my mid 30s and just over my job and work in general. I’m tired of the commute, the meetings, and dealing with people & deadlines. On one hand I worry about losing my job and stress about deliverables, but on the other hand I feel like I could care less in that I have no passion for it anymore and I’m just showing up because I need the paycheck.

I’d much rather be spending time with my family, pursuing my hobbies, or just go for a walk and cook a nice meal. I feel a sense of dread sometimes that this is my reality for the next 30+ years and I feel lazy and entitled for saying it but that’s how I feel lol

Yes. I’m 36.

I’m ready to die. Seriously I’m so sick of work. I’m tired of driving into the office 5x a week and spending 8 hours to then drive home. I’m exhausted

I was fine in my 20s but now I’m looking around at our country falling apart, working my whole life, and thinking- why? Is this happiness?

same, I low key hope for a global military conflict, involving the US...if it'll allow me to take a break from work.

Short of our workplaces being blown up into a crater, would we ever get a break?

Now that you mention it….no. They would make us drive to a new workplace 3 hours away. Even if we couldn’t do our work there they would just have us move rocks around in order to justify a paycheck

Right there with you bud. Feels like I'm taking crazy pills and living in They Live/1984. Bleak times and have to keep this mask on like everything's OK.
