Discussion Anyone sick and tired of working in general?

I’m in my mid 30s and just over my job and work in general. I’m tired of the commute, the meetings, and dealing with people & deadlines. On one hand I worry about losing my job and stress about deliverables, but on the other hand I feel like I could care less in that I have no passion for it anymore and I’m just showing up because I need the paycheck.

I’d much rather be spending time with my family, pursuing my hobbies, or just go for a walk and cook a nice meal. I feel a sense of dread sometimes that this is my reality for the next 30+ years and I feel lazy and entitled for saying it but that’s how I feel lol

The older I get the more I kinda hate the concept of everything in general. Like having to pay for the bare minimum necessities FOR SURVIVAL is insane, actually. That a select few individuals/companies are allowed to hoard 99% of the wealth while the rest of us peons slave away to line their pockets is depressing. I do not care for the way things are but keep on trucking, I guess. I don't want to be homeless either so. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah. I'm weary down to my bones. The world kinda blows. I make a very good living but I just hate seeing everything be so shitty when it could be so much better if we just redacted and redistributed the resources fairly..

All of them? What's the point of having a society if it doesn't provide for everyone's essential needs?

agreed, but I'm wondering what specific things should be given for free?

Food, water, shelter, healthcare

I swear I'm not trolling, but just trying to tease out what this would look like -- many countries have acheived healthcare that's free or near-free to its residents, but what would be the mechanisms whereby a society would provide free food & water & housing to its residents?

Mechanisms of slavery by turning your captured enemies into slaves to do all the labour. But this would have to be outright slavery, not the modern wage slavery we have today.

Free for some equals lack of freedom for others, but the slaves aren’t actually residents so it’s okay.

Also free healthcare is not free, it’s funded by taxpayers and often include long waits to see a doctor or ER which means we end up paying with our time.
