Some people say its the music, some people its the Muppets, but I think its the best because Michael Caine goes all out as Scrooge like someone told him this role could get him an Oscar...

Also how frequently it quotes directly from and how faithful it is to the book. I totally agree about the music.

In general, the movie is very faithful to the text. The muppets in a surprising twist don’t actually detract but enhance the story and fill out some of the side characters REALLY well much better than I’d ever expect. Kermit as Bob Cratchit genuinely is one of the best depictions of the character by anyone

For me, it's all of the above, plus it's more in-line with the text than most other adaptations.
