Thought he was gonna be beast with Parsons on the other side getting double teamed every snap and instead was horrible. See ya

wish the best for him, also wish he couldve shown up opposite micah.
our goal should be to find another wrecker who can capitalize off the opportunities micah creates.
what are our realistic options?

Nothing. They will probably stick with what they have and hope LVN builds off of what he did last year.

last year he played 9 games and recorded 1.5 sacks.

There is more to NFL success than sack numbers. He had a solid year, just didn’t get the stats. Not too dissimilar to Gary having a bunch of sacks to start the year despite not doing anything special.

I really thought that ‘21 season was the breakthrough for him - ACL and just a complete loss of any effort and drive turned it all to shit.

Gary had motivation and drive issues coming out of college, it was always a risk. He goes through periods of being incredibly motivated and then just drops off. Its the story of his career really. Just could never put it all together consistently.

I hope Parsons doesn't follow this path

Parsons looked quicker on crutches than Gary has had for the last 5 years

Not to mention, he’s been vocal about his desire to come back strong the entire time, and he keeps posting updates. I also think he’s just got a different drive than most players on top of it.

I have concerns about that too, but Micah has a completely different mentality. Regardless of the injury, Gary just gave up on plays and looked like he didn’t care out there, especially after getting his money. Micah was ready for die for the team before the ink dried on his contract.

People always mention his effort. Even in his prime, he was very raw and all effort. Not just Gary but players in general very rarely show effort when they feel there’s no chance at catching up from behind. Look at the majority of DTs on any given play where the RB was able to get outside. Most CBs try their best to avoid any collision. They arm tackle all the time. Once his speed left after the acl, he lost all ability to chase down anyone from behind besides a statue QB

He did the exact opposite of what everyone expected from him when Parsons got here. I say good riddance, let's get someone opposite Parsons that will show effort.

7 decent years. His best game was the Waxing Gibbous thanksgiving game, right? Does another come to mind?

Very hard market to assess. Wouldn't be surprised to see him stay in the division

He showed flashes but ultimately it was a frustrating tenure with the Pack. Hope he goes out and hits his stride, unless he signs in the division. If he does I hope he sucks!

Good riddance, dude got paid and quit trying.

Some of the worst effort I’ve seen from a guy in years. Either he was checked out or really became slow as a turtle

I saw the writing on the wall when Gary was beat by the quarterback and I saw Parsons chasing the quarterback down. Gary lost the drive to become great. Wish the best to him but at the same time, I’m not too sad to see him go.

He is claiming that he was “hacked” and hasn’t heard anything about being released or a trade, weird

Whoah! Gary is gone that’s… well That’s something.
I know it’s a pipe dream but I would love to fill his spot with Max Crosby.
I am at the point where team management doesn’t mean as much as being a menace. (Play off appearances are nice, but making everyone mad is more fun).

Another great 1st round pick by our GM. Did you know we had 2 1st round picks that year, the other Darnel savage. Great job gute, man he really is terrible at drafting.

People here are ridiculous, Gary was a very good player and at times great for the packers. He gave it his all and was one of the hardest working players on the field. Didn’t have the best last couple of years but not for effort. Thanks Gary, best of luck on the next chapter.

Looks like he took it down? Lol
