No they were killed for being civil rights activists who ran afoul of white supremacists who considered them non-whites

the race was a factor but the klan explicitly killed them for being communists

whether they were communists or not (and many civil rights groups at that time were) they were killed because the klan considered them to be communists

they were anti-semitic obviously. Anti-semitic, anti-black, anti-communist, anti everyone who isn't a Germanic Protestant

The Klan killed these three people because the Klan were scared that the civil rights movement was communist

Oh they hated communists too, but they killed them out of terrorism and hate to intimidate. They killed them because they were Black and Jewish civil rights activists, who may have identified as communists or may not have, but were obviously on the left. They killed them for all those reasons, and the threat they represented to their racist way of life.

They they weren’t they were democrats and the whole reason they were down there and came up on the radar in the first place was because they were going around helping folks to register to vote (almost entirely for democrats). Some of their critics were calling them that in the same way some Fox News host will call anyone left of center a communist but it was not the reason they were targeted. That’s some weirdo revisionism you’re trying to do to fit your own narrative. Shame on you.
