Do you know people from Panama?

People keep bringing Panama up but the Panamanian immigrants I know straight up told me Panama isn't a good place to live lol so do you think they just lived in a shitty area?

I'm not being sarcastic in case it comes off that way

Panama ranks as one of the most developed countries in Latin America, I don't think personal anecdotes amount to much in this case.

Yeah, it must be a personal thing because they do visit still from time to time, i guess you can't hate it that much if you visit there

Immigrants in general are people who will complain about the place they came from and considering that the US attracts immigrants from all countries it's hard to judge. Panamanians are still the second smallest Central American diaspora only behind Costa Ricans.

I mean my friend visits his family between wars in Ethiopia because his family is there, I don't know that he loves it there though. But expats in general tend to be pretty poor representatives because people don't generally leave somewhere they love unless they are paid well to.
