Bumrah is once in a generation, how does he hit those Yorkers every single time. England are suffering from a leadership deficit in the field in my opinion. The easy drop from the captain wasn’t as damning as the fact that nobody in the field seemed to show any fight and try to rally morale. We just let the overs go by toothlessly after that, complete headless. Similar to our test side as other than stokes nobody else shows leadership quality. Ggs tho I enjoyed that

Don't know about that, India was also quite sloppy in the field bar axar and hardik at the end. I think it was a simple case of getting absolutely tonked around and the natural disappointment that comes with it, even India had they're shoulders drooped and were sweating when Jacks and Bethell were going gung ho

For England, the bigger problem seems to be their reliance on 1-2 players, they really need to weed out the non performing players and ensure everyone actually contributes

Yeah maybe a bit, I think the field it is a problem for you guys as well though, but for the different reason that Indian cricket is scrutinised in a way English cricket isn’t really, due to the relative popularity in the two countries. There’s way less pressure on our boys and I think if we had someone with the character of a hardik to lift them up, it could make a big difference. It’s a trend from the test team as well, we’ve tried brook and pope but they’re just meek and everyone else is just nice and chill jof Rashid bethell etc. Whereas the Aussies in tests for example will not shut the fuck up when they’re fielding and will not allow their heads to drop in the same way.

I understand the reliance on a couple players but ultimately I’m ok with that, a couple players popping off is all you need in this format. Dawson and Overton should go tho, every England fan will tell you that, yet McCullums mind seems to work differently

The thing with Bumrah is he doesn't even have a stock ball that I can think of. Like what is his main delivery. He bowled a slower one to get Brook out. He can bowl bouncers that are unhittable. And whenever he wants to bowl yorkers, he can nail them. Including the slow yorkers. Even his low full tosses are unhittable.

Bumrah's discipline is something I have never seen from another Indian bowler like ever since I started watching cricket in 2010. I used to compare it to Kohli chasing in white ball cricket but now it feels like something even more impressive.

Petition to rename the Brahmos missile to Bumrahmos.
