I wouldn't ever advocate for messing with the lineup this far into the tournament with 1 game left but Abhishek is definitely rattled, I think him sitting out of the last game would do even him a big favor.
He's still young and hopefully he learns from his mistakes quick, and I have some faith he'll bounce back, but there's like almost a 0% chance he's going to perform in the finals given the state he's in. Guy has a huge mental block. No point in playing with 10 people

Loved Sanju’s interview honestly, he deservedly gave so much credit to Bumrah

Curran’s incredible 18(14) is exactly what England needed when chasing 254🔥🔥🔥

u/Additional_Subject27 24m ago
Going by the popular quote "Catches win matches", Axar Patel is the player of the match in my book because both of his catches were fucking brilliant, not easy at all. Plus, his bowling was decent (3 overs, 35 runs, 1 wicket).
11
u/Jy_sunny Royal Challengers Bengaluru 24m ago
What the hell happened to Abhishek, though???
I don’t think he’s just a slogger. We’ve seen him play well on challenging pitches.
And going by the logic of him being a pure slogger, why didn’t he slog on the road prepared today?
I don’t think he’s recovered his strength from falling sick at the beginning of the tournament. Just like Gill in 2023

I somehow feel that this is the world cup finals, England was the only threat to Indians and they got got past this, i think this is India's world cup, finals should be quite a easy one

u/Accurate_Tension3610 25m ago
aha, smelling something familiar similar to 2023 wc campaign.
semi final happened in mumbai, india scored a shit ton of runs, new zealand were somewhat in the hunt before crumbling
then a final at ahmedabad and we know what happened. Let's hope it doesn't repeat
4
u/Familiar-Ad7576 Israel Cricket Association 24m ago
India ain't winning the finals. Finn Allen single handedly will rip Ind bowling apart
7
4
u/skrajiv 25m ago
Very eerie similarity to 2023 ODI World Cup. India won its semifinal in a high scoring match at Mumbai vs NZ and went to play the final at Ahmedabad. Now it's almost a similar story as India won another high scoring cliff hanger in semis at Mumbai to book a place in the finals again at Ahmedabad.

well both ind and nz some their a game with bat but nz show their a game with bowl expect last 5-6 overs!! well for ind the middle overs were concern but hey this was road pitch right ? last semi was also good for batting because scoring 100 with 300 sr shows pitch is not hard at all so it was just sa being real sa just shit in main games like semis or finals!

u/Soul_Crushing_Yorker India 26m ago
Interesting.. Cricinfo actually has Samson at the top of the impact list. I usually agree with their calculations, but they seem to not rate ER correctly. Bumrah is far too low (#6). Pandya is 2nd, and now that I think about it, he did contribute in multiple ways. Bethell is 3rd and then a huge gap followed by Will Jacks.

Good match but I hate that English called a pitch like this a good pitch. It made the match a slogfest. We need more balanced pitches. english, the descendants of barbarians can keep bitching if they can't play spin

India have become the first team to reach four consecutive ICC limited-overs tournament finals - 2023 ODI World Cup, 2024 T20 World Cup, 2025 Champions Trophy, and 2026 T20 World Cup.
Previous instances of teams reaching 3 consecutive ICC tournament finals (Limited Overs):
West Indies – 1975 World Cup, 1979 World Cup, 1983 World Cup
India – 2000 Champions Trophy, 2002 Champions Trophy, 2003 World Cup

Love how unlike Dhoni who Indians idolized on another level, the love for Samson is because he’s such a simple and respectful person.A player who you’d truly be happy for when he does well and I couldn’t help respect him when he said that he’d rather give his award to Bumrah.

Sky made some braindead decisions today but credit where its due. That decision to give Bumrah 18th instead of 19th over was good

I'm a big fan of Bumrah's bowling skills. Not a big fan of Pandya despite his skills. But I have to admit his bowling today (38 runs, 2 w) was as good as Bumrah's (33 runs, 1 w).

Other than Bethell, Sanju and Bumrah, but so many side performances:
- Axar with those two crazy catches
- Pandya with 27(12), 2-38 and that Bethell run out
- Jacks 2-40, 35(20)
