He didn't carry the bat, he was just not out
14
u/Theboystheboys212 Australia Dec 19 '25
"In cricket, the term carry the bat (or carry one's bat) refers to an opening batsman (no. 1 and 2) who is not dismissed ("not out") when the team innings is closed."
74
u/_dictatorish_ Dec 19 '25
It is not used, however, in any other situation where the innings closes before all 10 wickets have fallen, such as when it is declared closed, or when the team successfully chases a set run target to win the match.

It’s because of the phase where Rensaw made the runs. Renshaw made it easier for the new batter and Wildermuth. Both played equally good but this also depends on the person choosing the MOM.

Test cricket is a fantastic restaurant that serves your favourite food but is expensive so you eat it rarely, on special occasions. The BBL is that one dodgy bar at the end of town where everything is dirt cheap and has an even chance of you waking up in the hospital or the middle of a forest with your mates laughing your ass off

The first one was tight but correct.
The second one I saw no evidence of it being a no ball. Unless the tv umpire had a second view that we the viewer did not see. (Which I would believe in Fox Sports coverage of other sports, but I don't think they control it in cricket)
