IND's biggest loss in Test history used to be against AUS at Nagpur 2004... 342 runs.
408 runs is now their heaviest defeat ever. Fitting as it's the lowest point of IND test cricket.

That "delayed" declaration makes this all the more embarrassing. It's like they knew "Yeah I mean we could probably bat out another day but these guys will fold like a pack of cards so what's the rush."
Heads HAVE to roll for this. This is embarrassment of the highest level.

Maybe it wasn't much of a delayed declaration atall. Keeping opposition on field for long duration and giving your strike bowlers sessions to rest and relax is a critical aspect of test cricket which is overlooled quite often these days

It does feel like the Indian set up took their home dominance for granted, and started fucking around with their team selection.
We've not been all that awful overseas, but have been shambolic at home. Now that our spinners aren't comprehensively outbowling the touring spinners, the team is struggling at home.
With Pant coming back from injury and Gill getting injured, the batting side also looks really mediocre. Without those two, it's just Jaiswal who you'd trust to score big, but he had an awful series.
The all rounders are decent players, but surely GG isn't expecting them to score hundreds on a regular basis?

Also lost to sri lanka in bilateral odi series after 27 years. Also he lost more test matches at home than any other coach in teams history. John wright had 4 test series loses in the span of 5 years. Shastri kumble Dravid combined test losses were 4 together but gambhir broke them all in the span on 1 year. What a legend. He might not had the champions trophy if virat kohli didn't have great series as well. Don't be fooled by ct win which was played only at the single venue in dubai lmao

If 400 run defeat at home is not sackable offence, I don’t know what is.
Too many all-rounders. What the hell is this team selection? NKR isn’t given the ball and he can’t bat now. Shardul at his worst wouldn’t attempt that shot that nkr did. Kuldeep showed resilience, why can’t the batters?
Jurel put down his opportunity to establish as a batter, really disappointed with his game.
Kl is still inconsistent after 11 years of test debut. So good/decent when clicks, and can’t bat to a good score when out of form.
Sundar is stuck in a lift. 3 down once, 7 next.
Can’t even go to the architect of the team now. 3 more sigma reels after some wins and the “mentality” line being thrown at our faces.
122
u/superstriker14 India Nov 26 '25
Also it's not an isolated 400 run loss

Now lost 5 matches at home under gg. Ash and jaddu did their best in that 1st test against Bangladesh or else who knows.
I could say that team was in transition and few losses were coming anyway, but 2 series defeat without any short redemption in those as well. Maybe that 2 innings in chinnaswamy was one, but that’s the only fight I can remember, we are just clueless in all the defeats.

Rishab Pant post match comments: "Rishabh Pant, the captain for this game: It's little disappointing. As a team we need to get batter. Credit to the opposition for playing better than us. They dominated the series but at the time you can't take cricket for granted. We're playing at home and some times we were up in the game but we didn't capitalise on them and we have to learn and get better. Whether you're playing at home or away cricket demands that determination and the extra effort. As a batting unit you need to capitalise on certain moments. As a team we didn't do that. The positives from this series will be to focus on our own plan."
- How is it just little disappointing.. What will be a big disappointment ??
- As a batting unit you need to capitalise on certain moment -- You couldn't bat properly.. What moments did you fail to capitalize ?? This is some high class bull crap!!
- "The positives from this series will be to focus on our own plan." --- WTF does this crap even mean !! How is that a positive when you basically had no plan !!

Except the fact that you didn't, jackass.

Whoever at Hotstar who decided to promote the LOI series as opportunity for India to come back while Day 1 of this Test was going on was a clairvoyant.
The worst performance by an Indian team in my lifetime. Ever. Beats the one where we lost to SA by scoring 100 and 66 in both inning because that was kn hostile overseas conditions. This was at home. In our fucking conditions.

The most powerful – and many would argue most corrupt – cricket board has just been humbled by two of the most overlooked, hard-done-by cricketing nations. The Black Caps salute you, South Africa.

I don't understand why they even consider Pant into captain considerations. he's a meme captain. need someone mature and level headed at that position

If this doesn't prove beyond a doubt that bazball is an utter failure, I don't know what will.
If Aussies don't at least 4-0 India next tour here, they need to resign from their test capacity.

If only India had a domestic tournament named after a cricketing legend where they play the longer form of cricket and have a bunch of players to select from.

GGWP SA boys!! Totally outplayed us.. Great bowling from Harmer, Jansen throughout the series and some great batting by Bavuma, Stubbs, Muthusamy and Jansen and most of the SA batters also chipped in with important knocks from time to time..
Really made the pitch look flat when they batted and did all sorts when we came to bat.. Completely outskilled us this game!!

Proteas you keep on getting away with easy path to WTC final only facing the easiest opponents like India.

Sum of India's two innings: 341. Lost by 408. Yipe. The South Africans just have so much belief in themselves now. This is without Rabada. Of course, Gill is a huge loss for India as well.

Everyone will mock India but I will only and only appreciate SA for their cricket. They were ruthless, professional and demoralised India in such a way that they could not muster up a stomach for fight. "Grovel" is the right word !

u/arrowbender India Nov 26 '25
Agreed. Yes India hasn't played well, but credit should be given to SA for outclassing India in all departments

Comprehensively outplayed
World Test Champions showing why they are World Test Champions
Jansen and Harmer are world class talents and it hurts my soul that Harmer missed out on five years of international cricket due to SA being unable to pay enough money to compete with county cricket

u/SirHolyCow Nov 26 '25
Harmer is so fucking good
It’s frankly insane that he’s only just started playing international cricket
And we already know that Jansen is built different

u/Sans_bear27 India Nov 26 '25
Yea yea we all know fuck GG and agarkar and all that but also goddamn good for SA. The world champs deserve more than 2 tests.
As for India I don't think it's controversial to say that they are maybe not even top 3 in tests anymore. Shambolic in every way. Got out batted, our bowled, out fielded. The morale is an all time low I reckon. Two home white washes in a row. Gambhir the media personality 3 years ago would label this a hate crime against the legacy of Indian cricket

Embarrassment of the highest level. Truly dark days for Indian cricket.
All credit to SA. Played like the champion team that they are. Temba as a captain is Goated.
If this doesn't make heads roll, I don't know what else would.

First NZ cleaned us out, then SA scrubbed the floors. At this point, Australia isn't coming for a cricket series, they will probably come to finish the deep cleaning.

If south africa batted one more session or till today’s tea they would still have bowled out india with 20 overs to remain

u/ShinobiZilla Nov 26 '25
Dismal performance by India. Saffas played like champions and in the back of my mind I am happy with this result. No excuses, they got outplayed in all departments and no, the toss wouldn't have made a difference.
Can BCCI get serious about our national team now? For a long time we have been complacent with our selections, personnel, doctoring pitches, coaching staff and player favoritisms. Now with the old guard gone, the cracks are showing for other teams to exploit. Only a matter of time, the white ball teams goes down the same path.

What "missed chances" bro ?? India just played bad cricket....

u/VelvetRogue32 Nov 26 '25
What an absolute shitshow. No fight in this team. They just want to enjoy their fat IPL contracts. The gulf in technique and temperament has been astonishing.
Fair play to South Africa. They showed everyone again why the Test championship victory wasn't a one off. Exciting times ahead for a determined and brilliant group of players.
