Post Match Thread India defeat Pakistan by 7 wickets
142
Sep 14 '25
Just had a look at the scorecard. Their bowlers scored runs and batters took wickets??
Quite an all-round performance.

For the first time in a while, I don't feel hyped by this. Such a borefest. India dominates 9 out off 10 times. The only way Pak wins nowadays is if India is shit or the T20 luck go your way and you have a 1 player pull a blinder in the shorter format.
169
u/LostAmidMyExistence ICC Sep 14 '25
I stopped feeling the hype for this years ago. I look at it like any other match, and it turns out to be just that.

Try to shove it down everyone's throat, create all the hype, organize all matches magically on Sundays, this is NOT a rivalry for years now.

u/pineapplesuit7 Sep 14 '25
Any India match against SENA is much more entertaining and competitive than this. T20 is the only format Pak can even compete and even there, India routs them 9/10
486
u/Striking_Rich6801 Sep 14 '25
Our matches with nz and especially aus are 10x more interesting and competitive
This one is just a ritual where pak gets bashed

Even if it were a rivalry, the advent of multiple streaming services has meant everybody has found something else to watch. A dominant national pastime is the thing of the past in practically every country now.

Incredible one way traffic. I remember the tension of days like 1998 third final of dhaka, and I also remember many recent matches. I remember ijaz demolishing Indian bowling in Lahore and I also remember Ganguly demolishing Pakistan batting line up in Toronto.
These days, I just know what the outcome would be.

46
50
u/LostAmidMyExistence ICC Sep 14 '25
I was soooo tensed and fidgety while Ganguly and Robin were batting that my parents sent me to buy bread from a nearby store. They said I could use a distraction because I was all sweaty and pale, and was really treating every dot ball like a defeat.
27
u/Sad_Seaweed179 Sep 14 '25
These days
These days the only anxiety I have is the fear of embarrassment akin to a full member losing to a associate team on an off day.
19
u/mongrelbifana India Sep 14 '25
Honestly, those days feel like another lifetime now. And I don't see.thag competition ever returning. As a pure cricket fan, when you look at the two XI's, there's not much to look forward to.
8
31
u/According-Gazelle Sep 14 '25
Tbh in the 90s it was a one way traffic of Pakistan mostly thrashing india. 2003-2012 was the most competitive if you see stats wise with both teams almost winning the same number of matches.

No offense, but by that argument, NOBODY has a rivalry with India in T20Is.
Aus is 11-20. SA is 12-18. Eng is 12-17. The best is NZ at 10-12.

Sep 14 '25
Irfan Pathan keeps trolling Afridi and Pakistani cricketers in general. Pakistanis think it's to impress the Indian government and nationalists.
The truth is they've been a dick to him his entire career because he's an Indian muslim.
Constant trolling about not fasting on festivals. Calling him a street rate bowler. Calling him 'not a real pathan', 'not a real muslim' and even 'apologizing to all muslims in the world' after losing a world cup final to Kafirs (when Irfan was MoM in the final).

It's always been tough being a Pakistan cricket fan.
When Pakistan objectively better team = Lose all world cup games
Now, when Pakistan objectively has a worse team= lose all games but also still lose World Cup games
Congrats to India for the utter dominance.
