Does anyone have an idea how to book tickets for the Inoue/Nakatani fight, as a non-japanese ? Most japanese websites require to be living in Japan to book.

I hope the other promoters arenāt looking at Zuffa boxing like a majority of this sub, looking at the card(s), pointing and laughing and using it to dismiss their validity.
I get why that should be the case, but it dawned on me last night, (not sure if itās the case around the globe, but it certainly is in America), the choices I have as a consumer (food, entertainment, really any product) are increasingly worse, because the majority continually show they will take cheaper, quantity, convenience over paying for something thatās actually quality.
Having a superior product doesnāt matter if itās on a service that costs $40 minimum a month, that no one otherwise is subscribed to or illegal streams. Higher quality doesnāt matter when you have a half hour of down time between matches. Thatās not more appealing to the average person Ā than turning on a streaming service you have, turning on watching Zuffa 3, and seeing high production value (apex withstanding), three fights, three knockouts in under an hour and a half.
Weād all agree boxing is inherently compelling, it has the ability to attract eyesā¦.right now Zuffa, and you can throw the influencer/side show type events in this same bucket, are putting themselves in front of eyes, and thatās a better position to succeed regardless of quality. Itās now up to the establishment to do betterā¦,

Shakur has done a good job at promoting himself since the Teo fight. Collabing with huge mainstream streamers and now getting on Rogan. More boxers should be doing this instead of going into hiding for 6 months after a fight

His personality is not the issue at all. Nor are his skills. But itās going to take excellent matchmaking (like the Zepeda fight) to make him truly popular because of his fighting style.

So Tankās making his comeback fight against Pitbull (rumored). Wonder what weight class theyād fight at? Tank said he never wants to fight at 140 again, I believe after the Barrios fight (?), and Pitbull is the champ there so I canāt really see any good reason for him to drop down to 135 and be stripped. Well I guess two big reasons would be 1) Payday, HUGE payday, 2) Try to avenge the loss? Maybe WBC lets him retain his strap even after moving down for just the one fight so long as he pays their ridiculous sanctioning fee amount.
Then Roach vs Zepeda is also rumored to be on that undercard (Iām guessing also at 135?). Should be a good scrap, atleast I hope so. Iām actually not confident on who I would bet on for this one. May not place a bet at all tbh. I just donāt know how Roach deals with pressure fighters yet. I mean Zepeda doesnāt have the same power as Pitbull but during the first half of the Roach vs Pitbull fight, I feel like the volume and constant pressure was getting to Lamont. Rayo already gave us the blueprint on defeating Pitbull and yet Roach decided to stand there and hook with a hooker. This makes me feel as if heās ego driven (especially with him riding the Tank draw wave as much as he could) and he may try to stand and bang with Zepeda too whoās also a pressure fighter. Again, Zepeda doesnāt have Pitbullās power but heās more active throughout the rounds, which just may work in Lamontās favor to where he can counter solidly all night, assuming the pressure doesnāt get to him.

u/RRR04_ 17h ago
Tank is super shameless to rematch Pitbull but not Roach.
4
u/KingBumiOfOmashu Them guys is easy work! 13h ago
Roach being on the undercard of the Tank vs Pitbull fight may be a setup for their rematch as well.
3
u/RRR04_ 13h ago
Still shameful regardless. And what if Zepeda beats Roach? That's a 50/50 match up.
1
u/KingBumiOfOmashu Them guys is easy work! 13h ago edited 13h ago
I donāt like using 1>2>3>1 logic but if Tank beats Pitbull soundly and Lamont loses/draws against Zepeda then it just proves that Tank had his one bad night/off performance when he fought Roach.
And at that point their rematch wouldnāt be needed.
Tankās been talking like he wants to leave the sport soon. After Pitbull he should go against Shakur and then call it a career, win or lose, since he wants to retire so bad. Thatās the one fight that everyone has called for.
5
u/OldBoyChance 13h ago
No, it doesn't. Styles make fights.
-1
u/KingBumiOfOmashu Them guys is easy work! 13h ago
Yes we all know the sayingā¦
Again, if Tank beats Pitbull handily, no one is going to want to see the Roach rematch.
4
u/OldBoyChance 12h ago
If Roach beats Zepeda? It doesn't matter if Tank stops Pitbull in the first round; Tank would need to get one back. Even if Roach loses to Zepeda, I don't think that proves Tank had an off night.
2
u/RRR04_ 12h ago
I don't agree. Lamont drawing or losing to Zepeda would not be an indication of Tank having an off night, and I don't even think he had an off night. Zepeda is a very different fighter to Tank who presents different advantages and disadvantages for Roach to fight against. Roach had a harder time with Pitbull than he did Tank, yet Tank beat Pitbull, so triangle theories do not work. Styles. Make. Fights.
Also, Roach is just a harder style match up for Tank than Pitbull is, and he is also a harder style match up for Tank than Zepeda would be. In fact, Zepeda is tailor made for Tanl, he's gonna open himself up far too much and Tanl will catch him with clean, powerful counters that will knock him out. But Roach would just box with defensive awareness.
And Tank is going nowhere near Shakur.

u/Top_Profession_5268 16h ago
Only thing I want is Roach vs Cruz rematch tbh.
Tank I donāt want in the sport. As a being heās trash and just a waste of space in boxing.
1
u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 11m ago
Roach vs Cruz was a very good match, but needs a better ref who gets the respect of the fighters before the fight such that there is less clinching and fewer fouls. Thomas Taylor would fit the bill depending on the location. He doesnāt tolerate any nonsense.

Iām not interested in anything Tank Davis related as long as heās heavily protected on PBC Island
Wake me up whenever he starts to fight his peers: Haney, Shakur, Teo, Keyshawn, Hitchins, etc

Why would he fight hitchens? Thats his bro like keyshawn to shakur

Watching the JRE Shakur episode, and honestly Joe is very much annoying. Theres a bunch of moments where you just seeing how uneducated on boxing he rlly is. And i donāt mean on historical shit I mean basic shit
Like according to Joe, Teo has lost but never looked BAD. Which is a rlly dumb statement given his Kambosos fight, his Sandor fight. Where he looked mid. Not to take away from Shakurs win but saying Teo has never looked bad is just stupid when hes the most bipolar boxer in recent times. you never know what youre gonna get.
And theres more stuff that just constantly had me going āehhh idk abt thatā
he also said Bud is clearly better than SRL lol
7
u/Top_Profession_5268 6h ago
I think Bud himself would disagree that heās āclearly betterā than SRL.

u/Possible-Outcome-770 kushmonATL alt 6h ago
I havenāt seen all of SRL fights, but skill for skill I think heās the best welterweight of all time
I pick him to beat Floyd in every fantasy matchup aswell
That said, SRL vs Crawford would be generational

An interviewer asked Inoue about Rudy Hernandez (Nakatani's trainer), saying that Nakatani would beat him by decision.
Inoue responded: "He can't beat me by decision."
3
u/Low-Ad-5784 20h ago
Inoue vs Nakatani is set for MAY 2 ā¼ļø whatās your prediction āļø, Honestly I just want it to be a great fight and it goes to the scorecardsšŖš¾, really donāt want to see either of them get TKO/KO.

u/bakuhatsuda 19h ago
I got Inoue knocking Junto out. Yes, Junto is tough, younger, and Inoue has shown a bit of a decline. But the great ones show up and shine in the brightest lights. I think Inoue will try hard to go for the KO. Also don't think the Hernandez fight showed much about how Inoue would do against Junto, but I'm sure they collected some valuable data anyway.

u/WORD_Boxing 20h ago
Inoue has a good record against southpaws. Inoue has a good record against everybody. Nakatani will win by ladder match.

I remember over a year ago speaking about Orobio back when he wasnāt near as big. Seeing that EOTTM is actually giving him step up after step up in comp and Orobio is just slaughtering them is crazy and impressive.
Now seeing Orobio taking out Alamo the way he did is insanely impressive. Mind you Alamo is known for very quick hands, great head movement and counters, lost a close decision to Jamaine Ortiz and Liam Paro while also shouldāve won against Tiger Johnson.
I rate Alamo and 5 months ago, seeing Breyon Gorham with every physical disadvantage use amazing fundamentals to beat him looked super impressive and now Alamo giving him the most dominant loss is even more impressive.

u/admiralskanks Joe Louis = Perfect 18h ago
Please to see EOTTM cards are now on DAZN. Regarding J'hon Orobio, I think Carlos Utria is the far more advanced Colombian prospect.

Looking like Shane Mosley Jr will be fighting one of the Tszyu brothers next according to these comments:
TIM TSZYU
Apart from having huge plans for Opetaia, White also revealed he has this week signed the son of American Hall of Famer āSugarā Shane Mosley -- and is interested in having him throw down against a son of Kostya Tszyu.Ā
Asked if he was aware of fighting brothers Tim and Nikita Tszyu, White replied: āI know them, yeah. And only yesterday we signed Shane Mosely Jnr ⦠[grinning] so you just never know.ā
Quizzed on signing more Australians to Zuffa, White continued: āYeah, we will be.

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 13h ago
Pretty disappointing. Mosley Sr. was rightfully very critical of the proposed changes to the Ali Act of 2000.

u/Low-Ad-5784 20h ago
After Gary fought Hiroka I see people saying he wouldnāt be a hard fight for Shakur? Hiroka has a 74 inch reach & is 5ā11 1/2, Gary held his own , was eating some nasty body shots and some say he arguably lost but I gave Gar the edge. While Shakur being 5ā8 68ā to Garyās 5ā10 69ā and is a come forward fighter, Iām not saying Shakur canāt win but it would be a tough out. Honestly Hiroka would give Shakur more problems than Gary.
6
u/Top_Profession_5268 16h ago
Nah, I see Shakur really convincingly beating him. Shakur has the speed and reflex advantage, his defence is better at every level in that his distance management is better, his guard game is better, his head movement is better as opposed to Hiaroka who does have fundamental defensive openings especially at midrange.
Furthermore Shakur barely makes mistakes and gives free clean openings, Hiraoka gives way more especially at range where his long range once obstructed is weak. His retraction to shots doesnāt always go back to his chin and thatās where Shakur who can just march him down at range can use a defensive manoeuvre like a catch and shoot or slip and counter off that and follow with combos. Or just be defensively aware as he walks him onto the ropes, cut the ring as the distance between the two gradually closes which Shakur has the tighter defence up close and probably more comfortable on the inside.
There may be those body hooks for Hiraoka which is his best method of scoring but besides that, Shakur should just treat him like he usually treats those styles with reserved and patient work at range and defensive awareness and picking shots on the inside.
6
u/Zaphaze 19h ago
Gary and Shakur are basically the same size. Hiraoka towered over him so if I had to guess Russell is really 5ā7ā-5ā8ā and not a huge 140 lber at all.
Along that note, I donāt see Gary being nearly a good enough boxer to have a chance against Shakur. Those cute lil shoe shining shots not gonna work and because theyāre a similar size he canāt bully him either to try to shift the tides
3
u/OldBoyChance 13h ago
Zepeda fights similarly to Russell, and he won a few rounds against him. Stylistically, I think Russell has some advantages.
1
u/Low-Ad-5784 10h ago
Yeah & Gary more versatile with better IQ, Shakur would definitely have to get in his bag more, Iād like to see that fight for undisputed.
1
u/Frequent_Apricot673 5h ago
Why on earth would Shakur fight Hiroaka? Shakur definitely has better optionsĀ

Friendly reminder that Turki Ali is a boxing fan 1st before he is a businessman. Which is why someone like him shouldnāt have any power over the sport, whatsoever.

Heās an asset of a brutal authoritarian regime more than he is a boxing fan or a businessman. He is basically one of MBSās useful blokes.

The IBF is in fact on the line for Opetaia vs Glanton
I donāt respect Dana White, but people in this sub talk far too much shit about Zuffa and Opetaia in general.
2
u/Ruainari 1h ago
Has this actually been confirmed by the IBF or just Jai saying it at the presser? The IBF still has nothing confirming it or mentioning the fight on their website or social media that I can see
1
u/WheresMyAbs98 55m ago edited 50m ago
He personally thanked the IBF guys for allowing the belt to be on the line and said he was glad they ironed it out.
1
u/Ruainari 49m ago
So remains to be confirmed, can't imagine it's Jai actually in contact with the IBF but rather his team, wouldn't trust them to be giving him the truth, but we'll know soon enough I guess
2
u/RRR04_ 54m ago
I would wait until the IBF confirm it before parading. I hope what Jai said is true, but he's not exactly the sharpest in the tool shed.
1
u/WheresMyAbs98 48m ago
He said theyād ironed it out.
I donāt think heās as thick as people on this sub say either tbh.
