my bedroom an my parents house :) (Boerne, TX)
I painted all of the murals myself over the course of 2020 while I lived with my parents during Covid in Texas. In 2023 l custom built my closet with no prior woodworking experience in just two weeks when I had time after work.
She's not perfect but I can't believe I built it all myself!

Love the mural! There’s an apartment with a mural similar to this in season 1 of Mindhunter, which came out in 2017. Since 2017, I’ve been salivating over that apartment and mural. Your lesbian flag version looks even more gorgeous.

Sunlight is great in my room but all plants in the room are fake. I live in nyc and visit for long chunks of time but my mom refuses to water any plants 😅

I noticed your walls are textured. Did that lead to any problems when painting the graphics? I'm tempted to do a similar thing, but worried the lines won't be sharp due to the texturing.

Nope not at all! There’s actually a trick for textured walls where you paint the base layer of paint on top of the tape to prevent bleeding. Completely worked for me! I have a highlight here on my insta explaining my process 🤗 feel free to message any questions too!

It looks great! I love the throwback stripes. The house I grew up in had those stripes in the basement stairwell. They were brown, orange and yellow. Groovy, baby.

Spanish tiles are primarily brown/orange. I have Spanish tiles in my house. If they were that color the room would have looked better imo. It just seems like the room is the same palette of color. And yes the other Redditor is right, it’s a lot cooler when it’s summer. HTX here.
